HOW TO INSTALL thinkorswim WORKSPACE FILES ?

Workspace file contain informaiton on the "feel and look" of ToS.

In other words how you have set up ToS in order to trade; where you have set your charts, watchlists, time and sales, etc.

These files look like this workspace.FileName.xml.

Workspace file have to be added directly to the ThinkorSwim folder in order for them to work.

How to Install Workspace Files in Windows 10 ?

Once you have saved the Workspace file in your computer, usually in the Download folder. Then follow these steps to move the Workspace file from the Download folder to the thinkorswim folder:

1. Open File Explorer at the taskbar to the Download folder.

2. Once in the File Explorer window, select the Workspace file.

3. Select Move to … function at the Menu bar at the top of the window.

4. Then select Choose location … at the bottom of the Menu.

5. Now look for and select the thinkorswim folder, it usually can be found in the Program Files folder.

6. Now click on Move.

If you want to check that Workspace file has been transferred, just open up two File Explorer windows. One to the Download folder and the other to the thinkorswim folder.

The Download folder should not include the Workspace file, while the thinkorswim folder should include the new Workspace file.

How to Install Workspace Files in Mac ?

First one must save the file into the computer, usually the Download Folder.

Then follow these step to install Workspace files into a Mac:

1. Right click on the ThinkorSwim Icon.

2. Go to Options then go to Show in Finder and select it.

3. Open the folder where the Workspace file is safe, usually Download Folder.

4. Then transfer the Workspace file from Download Folder to ThinkorSwim Folder.

5. Then close folders.

How to Install thinkorswim Workspace Files in Mac OS X?

After Installing the Workspace File.

Once Workspace file has been transferred into the thinkorswim folder, either in Windows 10 or Mac, it can be seen in ToS under the Setup Menu.

In the example above we installed "Workspace with two".

Now to launch it just click on it.

Where to Find the thinkorswim Workspace File in the Setup Menu ?

Once the file has been installed into the ToS folder and launched in ToS, its ready to use at your own risk.
